Getting Started with MultiMon

Learn how to install and set up MultiMon for multi-monitor video wall playback.

System Requirements

Before installing MultiMon, ensure your system meets these requirements:

  • Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
  • Runtime: .NET 9.0 SDK
  • GPU: DirectX 11 compatible graphics card
  • RAM: 8GB minimum (16GB recommended)
  • Storage: SSD recommended for optimal video playback

Installation

Download

  1. Visit the MultiMon Releases page
  2. Download the latest release ZIP file
  3. Extract to your preferred location

First Run

  1. Navigate to the extracted folder
  2. Run MultiMon.exe
  3. On first launch, Windows may prompt about .NET installation - follow the prompts if needed

Setting Up Your Display Configuration

Monitor Detection

MultiMon will automatically detect your connected monitors. You can:

  1. Open SettingsDisplay Configuration
  2. Arrange monitors to match your physical setup
  3. Set primary display preferences

Creating a Video Wall

  1. Click New Configuration
  2. Select which monitors to include
  3. Choose spanning mode (horizontal, vertical, or grid)
  4. Save your configuration for future use

Playing Your First Video

  1. Drag and drop a video file onto the display preview
  2. Press Play or use keyboard shortcut Space
  3. The video will span across your configured monitors

Supported Formats

MultiMon supports most common video formats:

  • Standard: MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM
  • Professional: ProRes (via system codecs)
  • HAP Codec: HAP, HAP Alpha, HAP Q (GPU-accelerated)

Audio Configuration

Access audio settings via SettingsAudio Routing:

  • Route audio to specific outputs
  • Mix audio between displays
  • Set up multi-channel configurations
